Journey to the Near East with Mosaic Dance Theater Company. Performing for MDTC are Samara Adell (choreographer for MDTC), Morgiana Celeste Varricchio, Kaitlin Hines-Vargas, and Danielle Hartman. Joining MDTC is Guest Artist Antonia Messina (dance and percussion) and her Viva FlamencoNJ company with Gisele Assi, cante (singer), Ivan Max (guitar), Marc Ferranti (flute). Guest Artist Rimli Roy and Surati for Performing Arts perform traditional and fusion dances from India. Stay after the 7:00pm Saturday performance for a talkback with the artists. The concert streams Saturday, November 7 at 3:00pm & 7:00pm, and Sunday, November 8 at 12:00N & 4:00pm.
Put on your dancing shoes, and get ready for the show! Learn some basics of Flamenco, Middle Eastern, and Indian dance in a special 90-minute community dance workshop featuring mini-classes in each dance. The workshops are open to all ages, and no experience is necessary. The workshop happens on Saturday, November 7 from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
