Middle Eastern dance icon Jajouka (Merrill Peress) joins hosts Morgiana Celeste Varricchio, Samara Adell, and Adriana Rosa as a special guest as "Mosaic: A World in Motion" makes a stop in Morocco. This ancient and diverse land of equally ancient and diverse cultures possesses a wealth of folkloric traditions in music and dance. "Morocco Dances" takes you on a mini-tour, of the country's history and geography and some of the many different dances -- from the spiritual dances such as the guedra to the social dances such as the shikhatt. What better way for the sheltering-in-place traveller to satisfy the travel bug, than to become lost in magical Morocco. The program is packed with images, and as a special treat, will show Jajouka's own indelible performance of the guedra, as choreraphed by the legendary Ibrahim "Bobby" Farrah. Register today!
"Morocco Dances" is offered at no charge, but you must register on Eventbrite to receive the link.
